U.S. Army Sgt. Cary Anderson, a percussionist with the 1st Cavalry Division Band, plays accompanying music with the ensemble during a bridge renaming ceremony in honor of Capt. Fred A. Hancock in Sint-Oedenrode, Netherlands, Sept. 15, 2024. Hancock, commander of Charlie Company, 1st Battalion, 502nd Parachute Infantry Regiment, 101st Airborne Division, was tasked with leading his troops to liberate the city in Operation Market Garden 80 years ago, in 1944. The 1st Cavalry Division Band is supporting numerous events as the Dutch commemorate Operation Market Garden with parades, reenactments, and educational programs. These activities honor the bravery of both the soldiers and the civilians involved. (U.S. Army photo by 1st Sgt. Jessica Barnett)
