HM3 Joshua Roach, a laboratory technician at Naval Hospital Jacksonville, tests urine samples by processing them through the Vitros analyzer (a device that detects and measures clinical chemistry, specific proteins and substances). Roach is a native of Tyler, Texas. He has been at the command for three months and appreciates all the support he continues to receive from co-workers, ensuring he is trained-up on processes. Having the capability to provide answers that can improve a person’s quality of life, is something Roach loves about his job. He says, “I like having the ability to relay information to the nurses and physicians. The lab process provides an informed background of the patient, allowing for a more direct plan for treatment.”
