Soldiers of the 101st Airborne Division attend the theatrical performance “Behind the Horizon,” which explores the vulnerability of freedom, during the opening ceremony of the 80th Commemoration of Operation Market Garden in North Brabant, Netherlands, Sept. 13, 2024. The 101st Airborne Division and 1st Cavalry Division Bands performed the original composition for the performance at Vlagheide near Eerde, the hill where 101st paratroopers landed Sept. 17, 1944. The Dutch commemorate Operation Market Garden with parades, reenactments and educational programs. These activities honor the bravery of both the soldiers and the civilians involved.
