Sgt. Kyle Mills and Sgt. Nathan Forrest, both trumpet players with the 1st Cavalry Division Band, straighten their Stetsons after performing “Behind the Horizon,” a theatrical performance about the vulnerability of freedom, during the opening ceremony of the 80th Commemoration of Operation Market Garden in North Brabant, Netherlands, Sept. 13, 2024. The performance took place at Vlagheide near Eerde, the hill where 101st paratroopers landed Sept. 17, 1944. The Dutch commemorate Operation Market Garden with parades, reenactments and educational programs. These activities honor the bravery of both the soldiers and the civilians involved.
