Armada de Chile, Infanteria de Marina, Sargento Segundo (Chilean Marine Corps Sergeant) Rudy Apiolaza and U.S. Marine Corps Lance Cpl. Isaiah Oppenheimer, machine gunner with 1st Battalion, 24th Marine Regiment, 4th Marine Division, carry snow to build a shelter at the Magallanes National Reserve, Chile, during Exercise UNITAS LXV Sept. 5, 2024. Chilean marines led U.S. Marines into the snow, where they taught survival shelter building techniques in austere conditions. By working together with allies and partners, Marines amass the greatest possible strength for the long-term advancement of their interests, maintaining favorable balances of power that deter aggression and support the stability that supports economic growth.
