U.S. Marine Corps Lance Cpl. Armando Pelaez hurdles over obstacles as a part of the endurance course during a squad competition at Camp Schwab, Okinawa, Japan, Aug. 30, 2024. Squad competitions test Marines’ infantry skills while under physical duress and build esprit de corps among small units through friendly rivalries. Peldez, a native of California, is a rifleman with 4th Marine Regiment, 3d Marine Division and is currently forward deployed in the Indo-Pacific as part of the Unit Deployment Program.
