U.S. Army Col. Hailey Bairu, the 52D Air Defense Artillery Brigade Commander, passes the guidon to U.S. Army Lt. Col. Andre Ruff to symbolize Col. Bairu's trust and confidence in Ruff as he assumes command of the 1st Battalion, 57th Air Defense Artillery Regiment, in a ceremony at Barton Barracks, Ansbach, Germany, on August 27, 2024. Looking ahead, the 1-57 ADAR is slated to modernize to the IFPC Weapon System, which will further enhance its ability to protect maneuver elements and counter a broader range of aerial threats. This modernization will ensure that the battalion remains at the forefront of air defense, capable of adapting to the dynamic challenges of modern warfare.
