A British Royal Marine Commando assigned to 40 Commando directs U.S. Marines assigned to Reconnaissance Company, 15th Marine Expeditionary Unit, and Republic of Korea special reconnaissance marines assigned to 1st Reconnaissance Battalion, 1st ROK Marine Division, to egress from the objective during a raid rehearsal at Jeongcheon-ri, South Korea, Aug. 23, 2024. The exercise was conducted in preparation for future operations during exercise Ssang Yong 24. Exercise SY24 strengthens the Republic of Korea-U.S. Alliance and partnership with the UK through combined, joint training, contributing toward combined amphibious capability in defense of the Korean Peninsula and regional security.
