U.S. Marines assigned to Reconnaissance Company, 15th Marine Expeditionary Unit, a British Royal Marine Commando assigned to 40 Commando, and a Republic of Korea special reconnaissance Marine assigned to 1st Reconnaissance Battalion, 1st ROK Marine Division, hold security outside of a simulated landing zone during a raid rehearsal at Jeongcheon-ri, South Korea, Aug. 23, 2024. The mission rehearsal was in preparation for exercise Ssang Yong 24. Exercise SY24 strengthens the Republic of Korea-U.S. Alliance and partnership with the UK through combined, joint training, contributing toward combined amphibious capability in defense of the Korean Peninsula and regional security.
