U.S. Navy Capt. Aaron DeMeyer, commanding officer of the amphibious transport dock ship USS Green Bay (LPD 20), presents U.S. Marine Corps Maj. Dustin Ralph, H-1 detachment officer in charge with Marine Medium Tiltrotor Squadron 262 (Rein.), 31st Marine Expeditionary Unit, a Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal during an awards ceremony aboard the USS Green Bay, in the Java Sea, Aug. 26, 2024. The ceremony was conducted to recognize service members for outstanding work and performance during a medical evacuation mission. The 31st MEU is operating aboard ships of USS America Amphibious Ready Group in the 7th fleet area of operations to enhance interoperability with allies and partners and serve as a ready response force to defend peace and stability in the Indo-Pacific region.
