U.S. Marine Corps Cpl. Kentavis Marbuary, a Forest, Mississippi native, transmissions system operator with S-6 Communications, 11th Marine Regiment, 1st Marine Division, enters the Twentynine Palms council chambers to receive an outstanding citizenship award from the city of Twentynine Palms during a City Council meeting at the Twentynine Palms City Hall, Twentynine Palms, California, Aug. 13, 2024. According to the award citation, Marbuary went above and beyond his normal duties with his quick thinking and responsiveness during a monsoon storm July 14, 2024, assisting Twentynine Palms residents during a flash flood.
