U.S. Marines with the Hershel “Woody” Williams (HWW) Marine Detachment, and Navy Sailors with Naval Mobile Construction Battalion 11 install forms for a three-room schoolhouse in Galoste, Ghana, on July 3, 2024. The HWW Marine Detachment, while under the command and control of Task Force 61/2, is constructing a schoolhouse for elementary-aged children as part of an Engineering Civic Action Program, and is conducting operations in U.S. Marine Forces Africa area of operations to support partner nations. Task Force 61/2 aligns deployed maritime forces under the Naval Amphibious Force commander; deployed amphibious ready groups, Marine Expeditionary Units, Fleet Anti-terrorism Security Team Company, Europe, and reconnaissance and counter-reconnaissance forces.
