Andrew Whitman of Normal, Illinois, a 5 year veteran serving with the 233rd Military Police Company based in Springfield, Illinois, reenlisted for another 3 years in the Illinois National Guard August 21st and received a $10,000 bonus for doing so. After the reenlistment ceremony Maj. Gen. Rodney Boyd, the Adjutant General of the Illinois National Guard, presented Whitman his command coin for his decision to further his military career in the ILNG and for providing guidance as a senior specialist to his peers during a no fail mission at the 2024 Democratic National Convention.
