Rear Adm. Peter K. Muschinske, deputy chief of operations for Reserve Matters, presents coins as a gift to the family members of Fireman 2nd Class Joseph William Carroll during an interment ceremony at the National Memorial Cemetery of the Pacific, Honolulu, Hawaii, August 21, 2024. The ceremony honored the life of Carroll, missing from World War II. Carroll entered the U.S. Navy from West Virginia and served aboard the USS Oklahoma (BB-46). He was on board the USS Oklahoma during the Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor on December 7, 1941. Carroll was accounted for on Aug. 19, 2019. (U.S. Army photo by Sgt. Anthony Todd)
