    The gravestone of Fireman 2nd Class Joseph William Carroll sits on a stand during an interment ceremony at the National Memorial Cemetery of the Pacific, Honolulu, Hawaii, Aug. 21, 2024. The ceremony honored the life of Carroll, missing from World War II. Carroll entered the U.S. Navy from West Virginia and served aboard the USS Oklahoma (BB-46). He was on board the USS Oklahoma during the Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor on December 7, 1941. Carroll was accounted for on Aug. 19, 2019. (U.S. Army photo by Sgt. Anthony Todd)
