PENSACOLA, Fla. (August 20, 2024) - Airman Randall Stone completes a 1600 meter swim, one of several long-distance swim tests Aviation Rescue Swimmer candidates must complete.
Aviation Rescue Swimmer School is a physically and mentally demanding six-week course in which candidates learn water survival skills, practice rescue and disentanglement procedures, and complete several in-water tests that evaluate their abilities to swim and remain calm under pressure. Upon successful completion of Rescue Swimmer School, students will proceed to Class “A” Technical School to learn one of the Aircrew ratings. (U.S. Navy photo by Nava Kiss)
