A U.S. Air Force KC-135 Stratotanker pilot, from Fairchild Air Force Base’s 92nd Expeditionary Air Refueling Squadron, listens to updates from air traffic control over the radio, Aug. 8, 2024 over the U.S. Central Command (USCENTCOM) area of responsibility (AOR). KC-135 pilots are highly trained aviators, who serve a critical role in providing fuel to fixed-wing aircraft across the USCENTCOM AOR to ensure they are prepared to stay in the air as long as possible.
