Col. Michael A. Sapp, 88th Garrison Commander of Fort George G. Meade, presents Mr. Antonio Johnson with the Army Civilian Service Achievement Medal.
Johnson earned this award when he responded to a mother's distress, believing her child was not breathing during a vehicle stop at an Access Control Point. Johnson immediately took charge, instructing another guard to call Emergency Services while he assessed the child. Using his training, he moved the child to the Access Control Point shack and provided CPR to revive the child.
On Mon., Aug. 5, Mr. Davis Tindoll, IMCOM Sustainment Director presented Fort George G. Meade Garrison with the Army Superior Unit Award, presented for "outstanding meritorious performance of a difficult and challenging mission carried out under extraordinary circumstances". Fort George G. Meade Garrison earned this for the period of Feb. 1, 2020 to Dec. 31, 2021 for the team's coronavirus response.
