The 104th Fighter Wing hosted Kenyan Defense Forces leaders for a base tour for the Kenya Defense Forces Senior Logistics Symposium, August 7, 2024, at Barnes Air National Guard Base, Westfield, Massachusetts.

From August 5 to August 9, Kenyan Defense Forces (KDF) leaders, including Maj. Gen. Ketter, Brig. Gen Kitusya, Brig. Gen. Oluoch, Col. Owuor, and Col. Keter, visited multiple military installations across Massachusetts in order for the KDF and the US military to share best practices for sustainment operations, distribution networks, mission-specific logistics planning, expeditionary sustainment, and logistics command relationships and responsibilities.

While at Barnes, the KDF leaders met with multiple squadrons and departments to observe and discuss various facets of Air Force logistics including aviation sustainment, supply chain management, warehousing, distribution, and support in an expeditionary environment, while also providing insight into logistics best practices and continuity of logistics operations in austere environments.

Lt. Col. Ryan Randall, 104th Fighter Wing Mission Support Group Commander, expressed the importance of maintaining our relationships with our State partners.

"Military-to-military engagements such as these provide an opportunity for us to strengthen personal relationships with our State partners through shared long-term common interests," said Randall. "They provide a unique opportunity to share best practices, deepen interoperability, and support defense security goals. From disaster response and crisis management to developing the host nation's defenses and security, the National Guard's State Partnership Program plays a crucual role in maintaining bi-lateral cooperation with our State partners."
