NORFOLK, Virginia (July 25, 2024) – A motorcycle helmet sits ready next to a bike during a safety course hosted by the Mid-Atlantic region motorcycle training team and Naval Safety Command, aboard Naval Station Norfolk, July 25. These courses are required for military personnel who intend on operating a motorcycle both on and off base and – while they are not required for civilian operation – attendance is heavily encouraged, as the information and practice received provides a solid foundation of proper operation and healthy caution of the risks inherent to motorcycle operation.
