A Japan Ground Self-Defense Force (JGSDF) member with 307 Transportation Company, Western Army, learns how to operate an M240B machine gun attached to a Joint Light Tactical Vehicle during exercise Resolute Dragon 24 at landing zone Dodo, Okinawa, Japan, August 1, 2024. U.S. Marines with Combat Logistics Battalion 12, Combat Logistics Regiment 3, 3rd Marine Logistics Group and JGSDF engaged in bilateral convoy operations in order to enhance interoperability and strengthen their collaborative readiness. RD 24 is an annual bilateral exercise in Japan that strengthens the command, control, and multi-domain maneuver capabilities of U.S. Marines in III Marine Expeditionary Force and Japan Self-Defense Force personnel, with a focus on controlling and defending key maritime terrain.
