U.S. Marine Corps Sgt. Hector Solis, a motor transport operator with Combat Logistics Battalion 12 (CLB-12), Combat Logistics Regiment 3, 3rd Marine Logistics Group, demonstrates clearing a M240B machine gun to Japan Ground Self-Defense (JGSDF) members with 307 Transportation Company, Western Army, during exercise Resolute Dragon 24 at landing zone Dodo, Okinawa, Japan, August 1, 2024. CLB-12 and the JGSDF engaged in bilateral convoy operations in order to enhance interoperability and strengthen their collaborative readiness. RD 24 is an annual bilateral exercise in Japan that strengthens the command, control, and multi-domain maneuver capabilities of U.S. Marines in III Marine Expeditionary Force and Japan Self-Defense Force personnel, with a focus on controlling and defending key maritime terrain.
