U.S. Marines with Combat Logistics Battalion 31, 31st Marine Expeditionary Unit, disembark the amphibious dock landing ship USS Comstock (LSD 45) aboard a U.S. Navy landing craft utility off the coast of Okinawa, Japan, July 29, 2024. The Marines and U.S. Navy Sailors worked together to enhance interoperability and strengthen ship-to-shore capabilities. The 31st MEU is operating aboard ships of the USS America Amphibious Ready Group in the 7th Fleet area of operations, the U.S. Navy’s largest forward-deployed numbered fleet, and routinely interacts and operates with allies and partners in preserving a free and open Indo-Pacific region.
