U.S. Marine Corps Cpl. Ivan Lopez, left, a meteorological and oceanographic analyst forecaster with 3rd Intelligence Battalion, III Marine Expeditionary Force Information Group, is awarded a coin by Lt. Gen. Roger Turner, commanding general of III MEF, during exercise Resolute Dragon 24 at Japan Ground Self-Defense Force Camp Ishigaki, Okinawa, Japan, Aug. 1, 2024. Lt. Gen. Turner recognized individual Marines for their outstanding contributions to 12th MLR operations during RD 24. RD 24 is an annual bilateral exercise in Japan that strengthens the command, control, and multi-domain maneuver capabilities of U.S. Marines in III MEF and Japan Self-Defense Force personnel, with a focus on controlling and defending key maritime terrain.
