    31st Marine Expeditionary Unit       

    U.S. Marine Corps Cpl. Joshua Stevens, a UH-1Y Venom crew chief with Marine Medium Tiltrotor Squadron 262 (Rein.), 31st Marine Expeditionary Unit, conducts pre-flight safety assessments during a helicopter raid support exercise aboard the amphibious transport dock ship USS Green Bay (LPD 20), off the coast of Okinawa, Japan, July 29, 2024. The purpose of the exercise was to provide security and supporting fires to forces on the ground. The 31st MEU is operating aboard ships of USS America Amphibious Ready Group in the 7th fleet area of operations to enhance interoperability with allies and partners and serve as a ready response force to defend peace and stability in the Indo-Pacific region.
