U.S. Marine Corps Sgt. Maj. Curtis A. Rice, left, the outgoing sergeant major of Marine Corps Air Station Camp Pendleton, is awarded the Legion of Merit medal by Col. Daniel J. Skuce, the program development branch head for the Programs and Resources Department, Headquarters, U.S. Marine Corps, during a relief and appointment ceremony at MCAS Camp Pendleton, Calif., August 1, 2024. During the ceremony, Sgt. Maj. Curtis A. Rice relinquished his duties to Sgt. Maj. Tricia M. Smith-Leavey.
