Pump out of dredged sediment takes place at the old commercial shipping slip 3 at Wilkeson Pointe, the first phase in filling the slip with dredged material from the Buffalo River, Buffalo, New York, July 24, 2024. With a retaining wall in place, sediment from three dredging cycles taking place every two years will fill the slip as part of a project to turn it into wetland, restoring it to an aquatic habitat.
