S98-03984 (17 March 1998) --- Astronaut Franklin R. Chang-Diaz, fully attired in a shuttle extravehicular mobility unit (EMU) space suit, is about to be lowered into the pool in the Neutral Buoyancy Laboratory (NBL) at the Sonny Carter Training Center. With his suit equipped with its own life support system, communications gear and weights to achieve neutral buoyancy in the pool, Chang later participated in a rehearsal of a contingency space walk for the STS-91 mission.
