Marines from Battalion Landing Team 1st Battalion, 6th Marine Regimennt, 24th Marine Expeditionary Unit, NATO International Security Assistance Force, run in the early morning here. BLT 1/6 is the ground combat element for the 24th MEU, tasked with supporting NATO-ISAF forces in Afghanistan. The 24th MEU has brought 2,400 Marines and sailors to the region to conduct full-spectrum operations.
