Current and former Marne Soldiers from the 3rd Infantry Division (3rd ID) and military attaches from across the globe gather for a photo following a commemoration ceremony at the 3rd Infantry Division Memorial monument at Arlington National Cemetery, Arlington, Virginia, July 15, 2024. The ceremony was held to observe the 106th anniversary of the 3rd ID participation in the Battle on the Marne River in France, July 15, 1918. During the battle, Germans advanced along the river in a major offensive attack, but were stopped by the relentless fire from 3rd ID Soldiers which earned the division its nickname - “Rock of the Marne.” (U.S. Army photo by Staff Sgt.
