U.S. Coast Guardsmen and U.S. 7th Fleet Sailors came together to exchange common practices and procedures when conducting SAR operations with their Vietnamese partners. Waesche is the second U.S. Coast Guard national security cutter deployed to the Indo-Pacific in 2024. Coast Guard cutters routinely deploy to the region to engage with partner nations to ensure a free and open Indo-Pacific. U.S. 7th Fleet is the U.S. Navy's largest forward-deployed numbered fleet, and routinely interacts and operates with allies and partners in preserving a free and open Indo-Pacific region.
