    Multiple Exposures in South Korea

U.S. Army Sgt. Brandon Valverde, Defense POW/MIA Accounting Agency (DPAA) mountaineer, rappels from a mountainside during a recovery mission in South Korea, May 31, 2024. DPAA mountaineers were essential in the recovery mission’s progress due to the unstable terrain associated with the incident of loss. The team used these mountaineers to safely travel up and down the mountainside throughout the mission. There are approximately 7,400 unaccounted-for personnel from the Korean War.
