Vandenberg Fire Department conducted a prescribed burn of 100 acres of grassland and coastal sage scrub. The series of small, controlled fires were carried out for training purposes, with coordination from multiple agencies including Santa Barbara County Fire Department and various Air Pollution Control Districts, ensuring meteorological conditions were favorable to minimize smoke impact on nearby communities and prevent the spread of wildfires.
