Nicole Rhoton, Defense POW/MIA Accounting Agency (DPAA) historian, researches data for a DPAA case during a recovery mission in South Korea, June 24, 2024. DPAA historians are responsible for gathering historical data from various sources to answer questions and provide proper background information on specific cases. Historians collect and evaluate source information from written records, physical artifacts, and other types of evidence during their investigations.
