U.S. Marines with Marine Wing Support Squadron 471, Marine Aircraft Group 41, 4th Marine Aircraft Wing, Marine Forces Reserve refuel a UH-1Y Huey helicopter at a forward arming and refueling point (FARP) during Integrated Training Exercise 4-24, Marine Corps Air Ground Combat Center, Twentynine Palms, California, June 20, 2024. A FARP is used to extend the capabilities of rotary or fixed wing aircrafts to allow rearming and refueling without having to fall back to a forward operating base. ITX enables the Reserve Component to simulate a mobilization and deploy its forces in preparation for potential future deployments in the event of a contingency or crisis.
