Carlo Gonzalez, the Defense POW/MIA Accounting Agency (DPAA) Indo-Pacific directorate senior enlisted advisor, carries a transfer case during an honorable carry ceremony on Joint Base Pearl Harbor-Hickam, Hawaii, June 20, 2024. The ceremony involved a transfer case containing possible osseous material found during a recovery mission in the Republic of Palau. The mission aimed to recover MIAs from a World War II crash site 120 feet underwater. The case will be transferred to DPAA laboratories for scientific analysis and potential identification.
