Sowers was selected for her position at AFMC in 2021 and was responsible for command-wide strategic planning, programming, enterprise analyses, wargaming and operational requirements. She governed the Program Objective Memorandum process for AFMC, Agile Combat Support requirements, and the Weapons Systems Sustainment components worth more than $40 billion. For 40 years, she played a pivotal role in shaping the strategic direction of the units she was assigned, ensuring the Air Force remains at the forefront of technological innovation and operational readiness.
