Garcia-Orozco was the youngest corpsman present for the ceremony, and as custom is passed a piece of the ceremonial birthday cake from the oldest corpsman present, Liou. The Hospital Corps was established on June 17, 1898, and comprises more than 26,000 active duty and reserve hospital corpsman that practice or train in 40 technical specialties.
