(ARLINGTON, Va.) - The Arlington County Water Pollution Control plant treats wastewater each day for multiple jurisdictions in northern Virginia. The plant sits next to Four Mile Run, a tributary of the Potomac River, which is prone to flooding. The area is prone to flooding and has been recommended in the Metropolitan Washington District of Columbia Coastal Storm Risk Management Northern Virginia Feasibility study to have a floodwall built to help mitigate the risks floodwaters pose to the facility.
