U.S. Naval Academy Midshipman 3rd Class Alphonse Trapanese, a Defense POW/MIA Accounting Agency (DPAA) short term individual augmentee team member, wet screens during a DPAA recovery operation in the Socialist Republic of Vietnam, May 26, 2024. The U.S. Naval Academy midshipmen, during their summer training and professional development, collaborated with the DPAA. They engaged in digging, wet screening, and searching for possible osseous material or evidence alongside DPAA personnel. There are approximately 1,576 personnel still unaccounted-for in Vietnam.
