Exercise CENTAM Guardian 24 Phase II, 3-14 June, is taking place in various locations throughout Costa Rica. CENTAM Guardian 24 is an annual, multinational exercise designed to build humanitarian assistance/disaster response functional capacity, enhance readiness to combat common threats in Central America, and promote cooperation and interoperability between participating forces. This year, 7 nations will participate – including Costa Rica (Host nation), El Salvador, Honduras, Guatemala, Dominican Republic, Panama and the U.S. CENTAM Guardian 24 is a U.S. Southern Command-sponsored and Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff-approved exercise that is nested under JS-Large Scale Global Exercise 2024 (LSGE 24). These multinational exercises demonstrate our forces’ cooperation and shared commitment to global stability, peace and prosperity, and agile forces ready and postured to respond to today’s dynamic security challenges.
