French Airborne Veteran Guy Trabis and friends observe the French Resistance Monument Ceremony at Sainte-Marie-du-Mont, France, on June 1, 2024. The French Resistance Monument was erected in 2021 to honor the contributions of the and holds an annual ceremony during the D-Day commemorations. The success of the elite Jedburgh teams during WWII is credited to the support received from members of the French Resistance. The French Resistance played a pivotal role in the success of the Allied landings with their campaigns of sabotage. Many made the ultimate sacrifice. The bronze monument features a Frenchman with a Sten gun, a young French woman using radio equipment, and a French boy on a bicycle returning from reconnaissance with a message to be coded.
