The success of the elite Jedburgh teams during WWII is credited to the support received from members of the French Resistance. The French Resistance played a pivotal role in the success of the Allied landings with their campaigns of sabotage. Many made the ultimate sacrifice. The bronze monument features a Frenchman with a Sten gun, a young French woman using radio equipment, and a French boy on a bicycle returning from reconnaissance with a message to be coded.
