WWII veteran Wally King, a former fighter pilot for the 513th Fighter Squadron, 406th Fighter Group, 9th Air Force, makes a heart shape with his hands to the crowd at the Deauville-Normandie airport, Deauville, France who welcomed him back to the region for the 80th anniversary of D-Day June 3, 2024. During his service, King flew 75 combat missions protecting American transports that delivered supplies and provided close air-support during the Battle of the Bulge.
