Two U.S. Air Force C130-J Super Hercules aircraft are prepared for flyovers in support of the 80th anniversary of D-Day at Cherbourg-Maupertus Airport, France, June 2, 2024. The sacrifices made by U.S. service members and our Allies during World War II serve as a reminder of the importance of solidarity in times of adversity. The Department of Defense is committed to the European regions, as we continue to promote peace and security across the globe through combined training seen in multiple joint exercises executed yearly throughout Europe.
