Lt. Gen. Mary Izaguirre, the Surgeon General of the U.S. Army, presents a comemorative coin to Sgt. Dontrell Moaney, a medical team leader in the 104th Medical Company Area Support, or MCAS, during her visit to the U.S. Army medical clinic in Powidz, Poland, June 1, 2024. Moaney distinguished himself from his peers by coordinating medical care for an entire sector of U.S. Forces and NATO Allies after an emergency gave him the opportunity to step-up above his pay grade. Moaney also has personally cared for over 300 total patients over his career as a medic for the U.S. Army, and he has earned the recognition by the Surgeon general of the Army.
