YOKOSUKA, Japan (May 29, 2024) — Gas Turbine System Technician (Electrical) Fireman Apprentice Shaquan Mckenzie, with the Arleigh Burke-class destroyer USS Shoup (DDG 86), receives a naturalization certificate from Lt. j.g. James Rego, assigned to Region Legal Service Office Western Pacific, onboard Commander, Fleet Activities Yokosuka (CFAY) during a United States Citizenship and Immigration Services naturalization ceremony at the Kodo Auditorium in the Community Readiness Center. Seven new U.S. citizens originating from 6 countries attended the swearing-in ceremony. For more than 75 years, CFAY has provided, maintained, and operated base facilities and services in support of the U.S. 7th Fleet’s forward-deployed naval forces, tenant commands, and thousands of military and civilian personnel and their families.
