YOKOSUKA, Japan (May 20, 2024) - Dr. Opal Lee, the grandmother of Juneteenth and Presidential Medal of Freedom honoree, talks about what freedom means to her and asks students from Yokosuka Middle School to think about what freedom means to them May 20, 2024 at Commander, Fleet Activities Yokosuka during a school assembly. Lee, a retired teacher, campaigned for several decades to make Juneteenth a federal holiday to celebrate all Americans' freedom.
