PHILIPPINE SEA (May 10, 2024) Cmdr. Joseph Godwin, ship’s chief engineer, from Honolulu, has his blood drawn by Hospital Corpsman 3rd Class Xiaomin Kearns, from San Francisco, in the ship’s medical clinic for a walking blood bank screening aboard the U.S. Navy’s only forward-deployed aircraft carrier, USS Ronald Reagan (CVN 76), the Tokyo Inlet May 10. Ronald Reagan, the flagship of Carrier Strike Group 5, provides a combat-ready force that protects and defends the United States, and supports alliances, partnerships and collective maritime interests in the Indo-Pacific region.
