Utah Army National Guard Staff Sgt. Caden Biddinger glides over a hurdle during an obstacle course event. The California National Guard welcomed competitors from seven states and territories as the host of the 2024 Region VII Best Warrior Competition, May 5 - 10, 2024, at Camp San Luis Obispo and Camp Roberts. Guard members from across the region have earned the right to compete regionally after winning their state's or territory's Soldier or Non-Commissioned Officer of the Year Award. The regional level showcases the adaptiveness, resilience, and lethality of our forces, affirming the readiness of National Guard citizen-Soldiers to meet the nations’ challenges. The winners will advance to the Army National Guard Best Warrior Competition this summer. These service members come from Guam, Hawaii, New Mexico, Arizona, Utah, Colorado, Nevada, and California.
